Meet Jamie Jadid, APRN

JamieJadidAs a nurse practitioner and certified diabetes educator, I love being part of a team of medical professionals who work together to educate and support our patients who have diabetes or are at risk of developing the disease during their pregnancies.

If you have diabetes, you may have never learned the most effective ways to manage it. At the High Risk Pregnancy Center I have the time to provide you with individualized care to meet your specific needs and answer your specific questions. I won’t confuse you with a lot of general information that doesn’t apply to your situation.

I see myself as your partner and cheerleader in helping you achieve the best possible outcome for your pregnancy. As part of your high-risk pregnancy health team, I’ll introduce you to the most advanced tools to manage your diabetes, such as the newest glucose meters (glucometers) and insulin pumps. I’ll also help you develop and maintain a healthy meal plan and exercise program that can serve you for the rest of your life. Because I have a family history of diabetes, I work hard to practice what I preach. I try to live a healthy lifestyle, so I can empathize with the challenges you face in making changes of your own.

Working together, we can prevent the complications that uncontrolled diabetes can cause, and help you deliver a healthy baby.

Jamie Jadid spent 22 years as a labor and delivery nurse, and raised three children before returning to graduate school to become a nurse practitioner. She joined the High Risk Pregnancy Center in 2011 and spearheaded our diabetes consulting program. As an advocate for healthy living, Jamie hikes, gardens and runs marathons, half-marathons and 5K races that raise funds for disease research.
